Another deep run in the Party 40k comes to a CRASHING halt

Played in the Party 40k tonight, over 2500 entries, so the prize pool was a little over 50k. I drop a big hand early and am down to about 4 BBs left when I go on an awesome card rush, and eventually am above average with 35 people left. Then this hand rips my heart out.

I really don't know how I could have gotten away from this, maybe I'm not good enough to make this laydown yet. If I win this pot I'm chip leader and can bully everyone til the final table. I put him on a single K. I figured he was reraising from the BB with that hand as I had been raising every six or seven hands, but not showing down much. I'm crippled at this point and lose the rest of my chips a few hands later when AT < 88. Finished 32nd/2514 for a little over $200. I guess I really shouldn't have even made it that far as I got very lucky to win a lot of flips through the middle stages.

After last week I said I'd probably die before I made another 40k FT, it's probably true. Those things are such minefields I'm shocked I made it that deep in two in less than a week. Hopefully Party won't flip the doom switch on me.

I'm trying to forget about this hand and hopefully I will take a big score tomorrow in the Pacific 50k. Same prize pool, 1/3 fewer players. Going deep in two Party 40ks should boost the confidence a bit.
